Many rumors have surfaced about the future path Elon Musk would take the network after yesterday’s revelation that he is purchasing ABC from Disney.
The View cancellation was the first item on his to-do list, that much was evident. Additionally, Musk is thinking of replacing the program with a new one that would be presented by Kyle Rittenhouse.
The decision clearly did not sit well with the show’s existing hosts.
When the choice was revealed on the program, Whoopi Goldberg sobbed and said:
“Elon Musk is such a bully. Just why he decided to cancel us is beyond me. We’ve been a mainstay on TV for years, after all. Many people hold us in high regard.
Since Ted Danson and I split up, I haven’t been as angry. Ted did at least give me a heads-up. It all happened so quickly. Elon is a large, cruel bully.
Kyle Rittenhouse is to take his position. Who is the person who is suing me for tens of millions of dollars? That merely makes the situation worse.
On the other hand, Ms. Goldberg reportedly told her co-hosts that she felt some relief at the news, saying something to the effect of, “if Kyle Rittenhouse truly does withdraw his lawsuit against me in return for being permitted to host the new program, then that will take a lot of burden off me.”
Although it would be premature to speculate on Ms. Goldberg’s future intentions at this time, we would not be shocked to see her go to CNN or MSNBC.
We want the very best for Ms. Goldberg, no matter what she does in the future.
