Thirteen years ago today, on Feb. 16, 2010, Miranda Lambert earned herself a little more bling: It was on that date that the singer earned a gold record, signifying sales of 500,000 units, with her 2009 album Revolution.

Revolution spawned two No. 1 singles: “The House That Built Me” and “Heart Like Mine.” The disc debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart when it was released at the end of September in 2009. By October of 2010, the album was certified platinum, for sales of one million copies.

“Revolution has been just that in my life: a revolution,” Lambert said when the 15-track record was certified platinum. “This past year since it came out, my life has changed tremendously. This project started with me on my couch at home holding my guitar. I knew it was really important that it be something special, so I poured everything I had into writing and singing with heart on every note and track.

“I wrote so personally it actually scared me that I was putting it on tape for all to hear,” she added. “But that is what it takes.”

Revolution also helped launch Lambert’s reputation as one of the top winners at awards ceremonies. “The House That Built Me” earned Lambert a Grammys trophy, for Best Female Country Vocal Performance, as well as three ACM Awards — Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year — and CMA Awards for Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year.

Revolution, meanwhile, earned an ACM and a CMA for Album of the Year. On October 1, 2018, the album was also certified double platinum.

8. ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ (2007)
Lambert released her second album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, in 2007. Out of the 11 tracks included on the project, she wrote or co-wrote eight of them; the other three are covers, of Patty Griffin’s “Getting Ready,” Emmylou Harris’ “Easy From Now On” and Gillian Welch and David Rawlings’ “Dry Town.”
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend includes four radio singles: “More Like Her,” “Gunpowder & Lead,” “Famous in a Small Town” and its title track. “Gunpowder & Lead” performed the best of the charts, reaching No. 7 on the country charts — Lambert’s first turn in the Top 10. The album itself hit No. 1 on the country albums chart, and No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

7. ‘Kerosene’ (2005)
Lambert’s major-label debut, 2005’s Kerosene, was released by Epic Records and peaked at the top of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. The future star wrote or co-wrote 11 of its 12 tracks, including its three singles, “Me and Charlie Talking,” “Bring Me Down” and “New Strings.” It would take Lambert a few more tries before her songs really moved the needle, though.

6. ‘Four the Record’ (2011)
Four the Record was released in late 2011; it’s Lambert’s fourth album and features 14 tracks. The album performed well on the charts, taking the top spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and No. 3 on the all-genre Billboard 200 and charted at number three on the UK Country Albums Chart. It’s also been platinum certified and features five of Lambert’s most recognizable singles: “All Kinds of Kinds,” “Fastest Girl in Town,” Baggage Claim,” the Kacey Musgraves co-write “Mama’s Broken Heart” and the award-winning “Over You.”

5. ‘The Weight of These Wings’ (2016)
The Weight of These Wings was Lambert’s opportunity to musically tell her side of the story of her 2015 divorce from fellow country star Blake Shelton. The dense, emotional two-disk project made its debut in the top spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart as well as at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.
“She didn’t make a double record to say, ‘Look at me. Y’all deserve two records from me,’” said co-producer Frank Liddell (Glenn Worf and Eric Masse also produced the album) at the time. “It was never calculated; it was never, ‘We’re going to do something that nobody has done.’ It was just that this is where she was in her life at the time.”
The Weight of These Wings provided fans with four singles: “We Should Be Friends,” “Tin Man,” “Kepper of the Flame” and “Vice.”

4. ‘Wildcard’ (2019)
Lambert’s newest release, Wildcard brings the singer back to her roots — with a few adjustments — following the hefty The Weight of These Wings. Inspired by the music scene she’s found in New York City while spending time there with her new husband, Brendan McLoughlin, Lambert created a project that’s snarky and rockin’, and that is in keeping with what’s made her a superstar. It’s Lambert’s first record without longtime producer Frank Liddell, but she enlisted the perfect person for the job: Jay Joyce, whose rock-oriented style helps Wildcard shine.

3. ‘Palomino’ (2022)
Like many artists at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lambert found herself with more time on her hands than usual. That unexpected pause gave the singer the freedom to head out to her farm in Tennessee and write a treasure trove of songs that would comprise Palomino.
Released on April 29, 2022, Palomino includes 14 original songs, plus a cover of The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger’s 1993 solo track “Wandering Spirit.” Lambert also delivered an unexpected collaboration with The B-52’s for a guest appearance on the funky track “Music City Queen.”
Palomino was well received by fans and radio alike, premiering at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, and earning a nomination for Album of the Year at the 2022 Country Music Association Awards.

2. ‘Platinum’ (2014)
The 16-track Platinum features four singles: the classic “Automatic,” the Audra Mae cover “Little Red Wagon,” a Little Big Town collaboration, “Smokin’ and Drinkin’,” and the well-received duet with Carrie Underwood, “Somethin’ Bad.” Fittingly, Platinum has been certified platinum, and placed at the top of the Top Country Albums and Billboard 200 charts.
“There’s humor on this album, and nostalgia, and it’s feminine,” Lambert previously explained. “There’s girl power, not in the ‘I’m gonna burn your house down and kill you’ [way], but more where I am as a 30-year-old woman and wife. I’m more settled in life, embracing the good and the bad, and that’s all reflected on Platinum.”

1. ‘Revolution’ (2009)
Lambert released Revolution in 2009, via Columbia Nashville. The 15-track project earned a number of major awards nominations, including Best Country Album at the Grammy Awards, Favorite Country Album at the American Music Awards and Album of the Year at the American Country Awards. The stellar record won Album of the Year from both the ACM and the CMA.
Singles from Revolution include “Dead Flowers,” “White Liar,” “The House That Built Me,” “Only Prettier” and “Heart Like Mine.” Three of the five singles broke into the Top 5 on the country charts: “White Liar” peaked at No. 2, and “The House That Built Me” and “Heart Like Mine” both landed at No. 1. “The House That Built Me” was also named the 2010s’ ACM Song of the Decade.
